A silver lining

Many years ago, back in Malaysia, I interviewed for a journo role with a brand-new publication. They started talking about how different this paper was going to be because it would only feature good news. That’s when I completely lost interest (I pretty much tanked the rest of the interview!), as I couldn’t help feeling that nobody would want to read it. Well, things are certainly different now. There’s more than enough bad news to go around, and some of us are hungry for the positive.

Some personal favourites:

  • Some Good News with John Krasinski – I especially loved the Hamilton surprise in Episode 2

  • The 99-year-old WWII veteran who raised millions doing laps of his garden

  • Rainbow drawings

  • PE with Joe

  • All the businesses who’ve managed to pivot successfully

  • Free streaming of Andrew Lloyd Webber productions

  • Caremonger and all the other apps that help spread care and kindness

  • The tremendous dedication, resilience and sacrifice of frontliners everywhere

A massive thank you to everyone who's been spreading care and kindness as we weather this storm!
